The discovery of Monsoon coffee was made by accident. During the voyage from India to Europe, The ships were exposed to monsoon winds. The beans underwent a change of color and characteristics, which created a whole new taste.
Indian Monsoon Malabar AA has a low acidity and is exceptionally smooth, full bodied with pleasant chocolate undertones.
The monsooning process, which lasts 12 – 16 weeks, takes place in the coastal regions of Western India. The beans absorb moisture in stages, swell to twice their size, and turns a pale gold to light brown color.
